Amid the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, we must not forget those who gave their lives for their country or their bereaved families.
This I feel makes our Battle of Britain service this year, the 65th anniversary, that much more important.
It will take place at St Martins Church, Lewes Road, Brighton, at 3pm on Sunday, with the Mayor and Mayoress in attendance along with the local MPs and members of other ex-service associations.
The Air Training Corps will represent the three squadrons in Brighton and Hove.
We will be on streets collecting for our welfare work on Friday and Saturday and always find people give generously on these occasions.
