Migrant workers in Sussex are being given advice on jobs and employment rights at a special "clinic" launched to coincide with the TUC Congress.
Sussex has one of the highest levels of migrant workers from Eastern Europe, including large numbers of Polish and Lithuanian men and women employed in hotels and catering.
Employment law experts from the TUC are running sessions in Brighton today and tomorrow, covering issues ranging from holiday entitlement to dismissals.
TUC general secretary Brendan Barber said: "Too many unscrupulous employers seem intent on denying migrant workers their rights and exploiting them to keep business costs down.
"Some are trying to drive a wedge between these workers and their British colleagues by employing them on less preferable terms and conditions."
