How I agree with Tony Austin (Letters, August 20) about how the peace has gone from Stanmer Park in Brighton.
As Brighton and Hove City Council, along with Cherrywood Investments, is planning to use Stanmer House for extra housing, how will it suit the occupants of these luxury homes?
Do you think they will put up with the blaring from the marching bands and the minibikers?
Will they put up with the kite flying day, the Duke of Edinburgh horse trials in May, the yearly coming of the travellers, who park on the once-lovely cricket pitch?
And will they like the weekend people, who live in Coldean, Moulsecoomb and the surrounding areas, who love this park, for picnics and days out with the family?
Instead of putting housing in Stanmer House, some decent toilets would be welcome.
-Mrs V Osbourne, Coldean
