The choir responsible for turning David Blunkett's life into a musical has returned with an exclusive performance dedicated to a concrete building.
The 60 members of Brighton City Singers will appear at Embassy Court for the official reopening of the thirties-built block of flats tomorrow evening.
Appearing in the lobby and on the balconies of the 11-storey modernist building, the choir will give the first-ever rendition of a 20-minute musical score about the recent £5 million restoration project.
The performance will feature guest appearances from city choirs with support from a brass band and will mark the highlight of tomorrow's Vive Moderne celebrations.
Brighton City Singers' Ginny Dougary approached Embassy Court residents and the company Bluestorm, which fought to restore the building earlier this year.
Miss Dougary and musical director MJ Paranzino had recently completed songs for David Blunkett: The Musical about the former Home Secretary who was forced out of government following an affair with Kimberly Quinn.
Highlights from the show were performed for the first time at Brighton Festival Fringe.
Aspiring singers can lend their voices to Vive Moderne and join the Brighton City Singers for tomorrow's performance, with rehearsals between 11am to 5pm at Somerhill School in Hove tomorrow, followed by the show at 9pm. For further information, call 01273 202562.
