In reply to John Clarke's letter, "All talk, no action" (August 31), as a local councillor, I made complaints about the refuse yard in Old Shoreham Road two weeks before the gentleman concerned fell and died from his injuries.
Apart from physically dismantling it myself, there was nothing more I could do. I made complaints and was assured that Health and Safety had agreed all was well.
I really think if anyone is at fault, it should be them, not someone who tries to do their best and all is overlooked.
