People in Sussex are getting more of their post delivered on time.
Figures published by the Royal Mail show 94 per cent of first-class letters posted in the Brighton BN postcode area between April and June this year arrived the next working day.
This is an improvement of almost six per cent on the same period last year.
The RH postcode area, which includes parts of Mid Sussex, Horsham and Crawley, also showed an improvement.
A total of 94.6 per cent of letters arrive on time, an increase of 4.1 per cent. Both areas have hit the regulator Postcomm's target of 93 per cent.
Royal Mail's East Territory director Roger Baynes said: "We are seeing some of the best figures for next-day delivery for many years.
"These figures are a product of the hard work of the thousands of postmen and women across the South East."
