Readers who are sympathetic with Reg Johnson's efforts to keep the memory of Robert Tressell alive (The Argus, August 27) may be interested to know that the Robert Tressell Group in Hastings has held seven Robert Tressell Festivals since 1998.

An array of speakers have been present, discussions held about Tressell and his novel, The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists, and a tour of the sites of the novel in the town also takes place.

There is a book, Robert Tressell's Hastings, available through the museum and tourist offices in Hastings and general bookshops.

Hastings Museum also houses the Fred Ball archive on Tressell.
