In response to your article "Feel-good factors to make it a Healthy City for everyone" (The Argus, August 29), in my experience Brighton and Hove City Council is good at sound bites but poor in practice.
In the new Castle Mews development next to where I live, there is noise pollution from the entrance gate, rubbish left for up to a week next to my entrance and a constant battle to get cars removed by residents when it is stated the area should be car-free.
The council does not want to enforce the regulations, so we have an over-populated, noisy and polluted Brownfield site. So much for healthy living.
The council has ensured that a nesting box for sparrows has been installed. Unfortunately, this appears to be more important than a healthy environment for its human residents.
