Brighton rider Lee Povey celebrated overall victory in the Sussex Track Leagues senior championship by winning the six-lap race in the final league meeting at Preston Park.
Povey (Track Cycling UK), who won the Sussex sprint championship earlier in the season, was a convincing overall winner with 243 points.
Officials were full of praise for runner-up Peter Mitchell (VC Jubilee). The talented youngster, although still eligible to compete in the under-16s league, chose to ride in the seniors and gained 130 points.
Robin Thompson (Track Cycling UK) was third with 93 points.
The senior B league was won by Peter Cattermole (VC Londres) with 149 points. Brighton Excelsior riders Paul Gosling and Anthony Rogers were second and third with 98 and 65 respectively.
