I have to disagree with Malcolm Dixon on his opinion of the Oompa Loompas in the new version of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (The Argus, August 12).
The casting of diminutive actor Deep Roy in the role was nothing less than inspired, and his spirited, slightly tongue-in-cheek performance almost stole the show.
I was trying to remember where I had seen Deep Roy on screen before. Was it perhaps in The Manitou, a horror film about an evil Indian spirit which erupts from a boil on someone's neck? Has he made any other films? Perhaps some of your readers could let me know.
