Since moving down here, I have been amazed at the way Brighton and Hove City Council lumbers along far behind the times.
Look how long it has taken to get even some show of doorstep recycling.
As for cramming in those boxy flats on the King Alfred site, this goes against growing evidence that people want places suitable for families.
And what about the planet?
Even in London, Canary Wharf is catching up with cities around the world, such as Tokyo, which are using the roofs of such buildings as green spaces for all manner of plants and insects.
These do their bit to make the air better for everybody.
