Regarding the King Alfred and the other huge tower block developments proposed for Brighton and Hove, if this is so "new", "bold" and "innovative", why was the high-rise tower block so common way back in the Sixties?
If the tower block is such a progressive solution to urban housing needs, why was it completely discredited from about 1975 until now? Why are so many cities and towns pulling them down?
Why does everything have to look like 1960 again? Why are Brighton and Hove City Council and its planners looking 40 years backwards for our design and housing solutions - and then calling it "modern"?
