I trust Brian Snow's views on tax and other people's children are not held by "the thousands of gay people living and working in Brighton" (Letters, August 10) but he seems to have well and truly put his foot in his mouth.
Just consider the following:
1, He is one of other people's children.
2, As a gay, he will not be helping to produce the future generations of Brighton, or the country, so he will be relying for the rest of his life on other people's children to provide the services and necessities of life and leisure. They will protect him, nurse him and hopefully care for him through sickness and old age and ensure his pensions have any value.
3, When he finally says farewell to this world it will be someone's "child" who screws down the lid.
4, He is obviously happy with the city which is largely the product of all its citizens - ie other people's children.
Perhaps the city could organise an inclusive Citizens' Pride Day.
