Is it possible to blend The Smiths with The Supremes? The Cribs give it a go and the result is a rather catchy garage-rock repertoire.
These brothers from Wakefield were last in town earlier this year to support The Ordinary Boys at the Dome, and they certainly gave it their all.
Their enthusiasm and melody-driven tunes are infectious - be prepared to be coaxed into singing along within minutes.
The drummer often gets special credit for his standing-on-top-of-his-kit-and-still-playing-well stints, which he will hopefully treat audiences to this time.
Signed to the same label as Bloc Party, Bright Eyes and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the trio caught the eye of Edwin Collins who produced tracks for their latest album The New Fellas.
Next single Martell is out on August 22 and they then play the Reading and Leeds Carling Festivals.
After that, they'll be joining Kaiser Chiefs and Maximo Park on The NME Rock 'n' Roll Riot Tour, in October.
