The date of a meeting about the proposed development at the King Alfred was reported recently (The Argus, July 29).

I rang the would-be developer, Karis, to get the exact time and was told it was a private meeting. Why all the secrecy? Surely it concerns everyone.

Hope Warren-Pogary (Letters, July 27) from the US was shocked at the thought of what a monstrosity Brighton and Hove City Council is thinking of building.

A Karis spokesperson said plans will be submitted in September.

So come on residents, let's raise our voices in protest.
