As I passed the Black Rock site on the way to Brighton Marina, I saw some activity and thought, "Blimey".
It looked like a start, at last, on the proposed international ice rink/conference centre - after a two-year wait.
But no, silly me. I now read it was a delivery of sand for an exhibition of sculptures (The Argus, June 30).
Again, I regularly pass Brighton's Preston Barrack's site, with its large board boasting of a jointly-funded scheme to find, again, no action for more than two years.
Lucky these sites do not have a listed protection structure otherwise we would see a West Pier situation occur.
If the football stadium and King Alfred site developments are given approval, will a two-year wait be compulsory before the construction is allowed to start?
Still, I suppose, being cynical - after a 30-year wait for the Brighton Station site development, a two-year one is seen as progress.
