He was today named in the Republic of Ireland under-21 squad for a friendly away to the Czech Republic on March 24.
It is the first time Armstrong has been selected at under-21 level, although he has represented his country at under-18s. Delighted Albion boss Brian Horton said today: "It's great news for Paul and the club." Armstrong recently returned to action following a back injury. He will be on the bench against Hartleypool tomorrow, but his international call-up means he will be unavailable for the Seagulls home game against Cambridge United on March 21. SHEFFIELD UNITED will be without former Albion striker Dean Saunders for tomorrow's FA Cup sixth round tie at Coventry. The Welsh international is ruled out with a hamstring injury while Roger Nilsen is still out with a calf problem.
