A MYSTERY moggy survived a 20-mile journey stuck in a car engine.
Dennis Bull thought the miaowing he heard as he drove along with his two-year-old daughter was on her favourite tape of Old MacDonald Had A Farm. But when the pitiful mewing continued after they stopped, he was astonished to discover the poor tabby cat trapped in the engine. Mr Bull, of Maidenbower, Crawley, had driven at least 20 miles at speeds of up to 60mph unaware the animal was sandwiched between the drive shaft and steering column of his Ford Mondeo. He alerted the RSPCA, and inspector Barbara Kvalheim rescued the poor puss. The male, grey, short-haired tabby, aged three or four, was amazingly unhurt and is now being cared for by the RSPCA at Chichester.
