A HUGE cast iron sculpture will be lowered into place on Brighton beach on Friday.
The 20-ton work, called Passacaglia, will be completed at 11am on a site between the piers. Charles Hadlock has used geometric plates of cast iron to create a large abstract work inspired by the engineering of the piers. Acrane will be used to help install the work, which some councillors say looks like a giant climbing frame. It will stand five metres high, towering above people as they walk along the beach.
