GEORGE Jacob gives Tina Knight a big thank-you kiss for her money spinning activities.
Tina has raised more than £1,000 in four months so that George can have a well-deserved holiday. Tina, 35, a voluntary worker at the Martlets Hospice, Hove, was so impressed with the way George is coping with cancer without complaining that she decided to raise funds for the model patient. She organised quiz mornings at the Wild Park Cafe, Moulsecoomb, a sponsored swim and children's parties. Tina, of Manton Road, Bevendean, jumped into action after hearing that George, 50, had never had a proper holiday in his life. He was also a successful fund-raiser and once completed a sponsored wheelchair run along Brighton seafront, backed by several Albion players who gave him a signed shirt. She handed over the money at a special party for George at Hollingdean Community Centre at the weekend. Tina said: "He was always doing things for others, so I thought it was about time someone did something for him." George, who now has morphine injections to cope with pain, will spend the money on a holiday at the Butlin's Hotel in Margate later this month, with his wife, Sonia. He said: "Tina's a girl in a million. She has worked marvels. This will be my first real holiday. I am going to make the most of it."
