SHOCKED dock workers watched in horror as one of their colleagues died after being struck by a crane.
The 25-year-old man from Brighton, who has not yet been named, was working in the hull of the Cambrook, moored at Shoreham Harbour, when the accident happened. He was working with another man helping to unload bags of block paving from the boat's cargo hold. Emergency services were called but the man, a part-time worker, died instantly. Onlookers were left deeply shocked by the accident. One distraught dock worker said: "It was a terrible thing to happen. Everyone's really upset." Health and Safety Executive staff were called to the scene to investigate the accident, which happened on Friday. Details were not released by police until yesterday. The tragedy is also being investigated by the West Sussex coroner.
