SHOREHAM heavyweight Scott Welch has vowed to fight on.
The former world title challenger cannot wait to get back into the ring to put behind him last Saturday's disappointing points victory over Michael Murray.
Welch's performance cast doubt over his chances of getting back to the top after a long period of inactivity.
But he said: "When I looked at the video I didn't think I was too bad. I put it down to being out for 14 months.
"Now that is out of the way my next fight won't be as bad as that. I was in one-punch mode, just trying to knock him out and trying too hard to impress.
"I wasn't pleased with my performance, but I think I expected too much."
The veteran Julius Francis sprang a surprise by retaining his British title inside four rounds against the hot favourite Pepe Reid on the same Bethnal Green bill.
Added Welch: "I knocked Julius Francis out when he was in his prime three or four years ago. Now I want to fight again as soon as possible, hopefully within five or six weeks, to put the Murray one right."
