A BURGLAR left behind an expensive mountain bike after being disturbed during a break-in yesterday.
He was inside an office in Sayerlands Way, Polegate, at about 12.30pm when a member of staff returned.
It was only after he fled that staff and police found the burglar's mode of transport.
Nothing is thought to have been stolen from the office but police today appealed for witnesses.
The bike left behind was a grey Kona Lava Dome.
A police spokesman said: "It's almost brand new. If it was his to begin with, and he hadn't stolen it, then it was a pretty expensive break-in for him."
