FORMER Albion star John Keeley has issued a "come and get me" plea to non-league clubs.

Goalkeeper Keeley, who once commanded a transfer fee of £240,000, was left looking for a new club after quitting Ryman League side Lewes on Saturday.

But he can't wait to get back between the sticks and wants to be fixed up by Saturday.

Keeley, 37, said: "My contract has been cancelled and I could play for a new side tomorrow.

"I wouldn't go any lower than Division One of the County League but I don't mind travelling."

Keeley is the first departure from the Dripping Pan since the resignation of chairman Steve White, who was funding their promotion drive.

Striker Peter Brackley is also expected to leave, but Rooks have re-structured their budget in a bid to keep the rest of the squad.

Boss Jimmy Quinn has even made a signing in former Selsey striker Warren Bagnall.

But, with seven players injured or ill, he may ask Keeley to make a one-off comeback appearance in next week's Senior Cup quarter-final.

Seocnd choice goalkeeper Graham Bannatyne was injured for Peacehaven on Saturday and Will Warne has not played this season.

Quinn admitted: "Everything's going wrong at the moment but I'm still hoping the players will stay together."
