TOP DJ Norman Cook plans to wed his fiancee Zoe Ball as soon as her hectic schedule allows.
Norman revealed he "ran around the flat screaming" after the Radio One DJ accepted his Valentine's Day proposal.
Speaking from the balcony of his luxury home on Hove seafront, the chart-topping star said: "I knew after three weeks she was someone special."
Zoe also spoke of her delight yesterday, describing her engagement ring as "my Brighton rock".
She said: "I went to sleep and he woke me up and now I'm getting married. I feel completely sick and my stomach is turning over."
Norman, also known as Fatboy Slim, told how he had gone down on one knee and asked Zoe to be his bride.
The star, whose hits include Gangsta Tripping and Praise You, said: "She was having a nap and I was a bit worried Valentine's Day would come and go.
"I had been waiting all day for the right moment and I was getting really nervous.
"It got to 8pm and I gave her the ring - she had been moaning because I hadn't bought her a present.
"I gave her the box and she looked at me and said: 'No, don't say it, don't say it.
"Then she just screamed 'yes, yes!'"
The couple, who have been together for five months, have not set a date or made any firm plans yet.
Norman has a best man in mind but said he is not famous.
He added: "Zoe had said if I hadn't done it soon, she was going to ask me.
"We had talked about it and said: 'How long do you have to be going out with someone before you can get married?'
"It's a bit whirlwind, but we knew it was right.
"I phoned her dad (television presenter Johnny Ball) and had to ask for her hand - belatedly.
"He asked something about whether my intentions were honourable and then we spent about two hours running around the flat screaming.
"Then we had dinner with friends and opened a bottle of champagne."
The engagement ring is a diamond from New York jewellers Tiffany's but the cost is a secret.
He said he wants to wed Zoe as soon as he can.
He added: "We want to do it as soon as possible but it depends on when Zoe can get the time off.
"I am actually taking time off myself at the moment - I'm having a bit of a breather. I feel like I've been in everyone's face lately."
Despite their fame, Norman and Zoe say they do not want to be known as a celebrity couple.
Norman explained: "I'll talk to the Argus but we turned down Hello and The Face.
"We don't like all that twee nonsense - we've never done pictures together."
Zoe left Norman in bed at 4.45am yesterday to reach her Radio One show, where she broke the news.
The couple divide their time between her London home and his Hove pad.
