GLEN Geard will be assistant to Saltdean's new boss Glenn Burvill.
Geard had a taste of management as No.2 to Worthing boss Sammy Donnelly last season and has been pulling on his boots for Steyning in County League division three over the last few weeks.
Burvill, like Geard an ex-pro, takes over at the end of the season when Tom Hamilton steps down to spend more time with his family.
Tigers' chairman Rod Flavell said: "Glen has seen us play five or six times this season and is well known to quite a lot of people at the club.
"He was definitely Glenn's first choice as his No2 and I'm sure they will work well together for the good of the club."
Geard had a colourful playing career in the county, serving Eastbourne United, Whitehawk, Worthing, Shoreham, Southwick and Crawley after he was released by Albion.
GLEN Davies and Terry Cooper return for Tigers at Hailsham tomorrow.
But Max Hamilton (broken toe) and Dave Stevens (groin) miss out.
