ALBION will be stuck with the label of a "bad" team unless they improve their League position.
That is the warning from new manager Micky Adams ahead of tomorrow's penultimate away match against promotion hopefuls Halifax.
Adams wants the Seagulls to end a fluctuating season with a flourish and climb back up the table after Tuesday's home victory over Shrewsbury in his first game in charge removed the lingering threat of relegation.
The players have not had a day off since Adams was appointed on Monday.
"That's not a punishment, it's just the way I see it," he said. "We are 13th in the table which makes them a bad team and me a bad manager.
"I don't want to be a bad manager. That is the way I am thinking and that's the way I want them to think.
"I would like to see us finish with some half decent performances. We are safe from relegation now. That cloud of uncertainty has been lifted, so I want them to relax and play.
"The attitude will have to be spot on, because Halifax are a good side. I have watched them four times this season. They have impressed me with their workrate and commitment and they are challenging for a play-off spot."
Sheffield-born Adams has added Lawrence Davies, Mark Walton, Derek Allan and Andy Ansah to the squad for his return to Yorkshire, and he envisages making "a couple of changes".
The foursome all featured in the Reserves against Barnet on Wednesday, when Welshman Davies broke his Albion duck with a hat-trick.
"I couldn't have timed it better," said the former Bradford striker. "It's the first match the manager has seen me play in, so I was really pleased. I know it was only a reserve game, but it's still a good feeling."
Halifax are expecting a demonstration by fans after the match following last week's shock sacking of former Albion midfielder Kieran O'Regan.
