TWO drug dealers who plotted to sell cannabis worth £144,000 have been jailed.
Brighton landlord and part-time docker Ronald Compton, 37, was given eight years and Phillip Garvey, 49, of Kidders Lane, Henfield, five-and-a-half years.
Lewes Crown Court heard police raided Compton's home in Surrenden Road, Brighton, in September last year after Garvey pulled up outside in his Jaguar and was seen unloading two large holdalls from the boot.
During the raid, police found bags containing 15 packs of cannabis resin weighing nearly 60kg, with a street value of between £90,000 and £144,000.
Officers also discovered £13,750 worth of heroin, and a second slab of cannabis.
When police later searched Garvey's house in Henfield they found more than £12,000 in cash.
The two were jointly charged with possession with intent to supply and Compton with possessing heroin and cannabis.
