THE two brave children of head injury victim Jay Abatan will stand before 200 people today to pay tribute to the "best Daddy in the world".
Portia, five, and her seven-year-old brother Daniel have prepared their own personal tributes to give at a memorial service in London.
Two men have been charged with manslaughter after their father, a 42-year-old stocks and shares tax specialist, died following a dispute at a Brighton taxi-rank.
Jay's friends and relatives from around the world are expected this afternoon at St James's Church, Piccadilly, along with Brighton police officers involved in the case.
His grieving partner Tanya Haynes, who will open the service, spent a week by her partner's bedside at Brighton's Royal Sussex County Hospital, holding Jay's hand and talking to him.
She cradled him in her arms when he died and later had to break the news to Daniel and Portia at their home in Meads, Eastbourne.
Tanya, a 30-year-old hospital psychotherapist, said: "They have prepared their own tributes. They have called Jay the best Daddy in the world.
"Daniel wanted a suit just like his Daddy's and we had to buy it at the same store Jay shopped at."
Earlier, Tanya told the Argus: "The children's loss is the biggest pain for me. My daughter was his beautiful angel and he adored her. My son was his best friend.
"When Jay was around, all you heard was laughter. He made life an adventure for them."
Jay was earmarked for promotion at one of the world's largest accountancy firms, PriceWaterhouseCoopers in London.
Everyone leaving the church today will be given a lit candle to carry away with them.
