AN MI5 OFFICER from Sussex is to face charges of sexually abusing young girls.
The 43-year-old spy, who lives near Eastbourne, was arrested at his £300,000 home on Wednesday.
He was interviewed by child protection officers in Crawley and later charged with the indecent assault of three girls under the age of 16 stretching back over ten years.
As an expert in counter-terrorism, the MI5 man, who has not been named, has helped catch some of the IRA's most feared operators.
He is also said to work with Scotland Yard's anti-terrorist squad and Special Branch.
The agent, who lives with his teacher wife, is due to appear before Bromley magistrates on Wednesday, June 2.
