NICHOLAS Mason, the man convicted of stabbing teenager Justin El Korashy to death, will be detained at Broadmoor Mental Hospital indefinitely.
The 25-year-old, who was found guilty of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility, can only be released from the secure mental unit with the consent of the Home Secretary.
Yesterday Judge Richard Brown, sitting at Lewes Crown Court, ordered that Mason should be detained Mason, of no fixed abode, stabbed 19-year-old Justin after calling at the advertising agency where the teenager worked in Providence Place, Brighton in November last year. Justin died four days later at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
Justin's colleague Thomas Meakin, 20, from Hove, also suffered injuries after being stabbed in the back.
A jury at Lewes Crown Court acquitted Mason of murder last month. He had denied the charge but admitted manslaughter, two counts of wounding and one of escaping custody at Hellingly Hospital.
Judge Brown said: "Your actions that night took away the life of Justin El Korashy. It has brought ever-lasting grief and devastation to the lives of his family and friends."
Doctor Sophie Davison, a consultant at Broadmoor, said Mason suffered from a psychopathic disorder and mental illness.
