POLICE recovered the body of a man found floating in the River Arun at Littlehampton last night.
A member of the public called the emergency services at 7.45pm after seeing what he thought was a body near the mouth of the river.
Police used a boat to recover the fully-clothed body and were today
trying to identify the dead man.
He is described as aged 35 to 45, with an olive green canvas,
military-style jacket with a West German emblem.
He was wearing blue jeans and Reebok trainers and had grey, straight,
collar-length hair with blue or grey eyes.
The man had some coins and a mortice key along with two documents relating to the Sussex Cats Protection League.
His left thumb was heavily stained with nicotine.
