A young couple are facing a £20,000 bill after their baby was born on a disastrous holiday in Florida.
The medical costs have mounted up because they were not covered for pregnancy on their insurance.
But Stephen Titheridge, 40, said his girlfriend, Lynda Renzulli, was not pregnant when they booked the two-week break to Orlando in February.
Now they may have to sell their home in Chaffinch Close, Worthing, to pay the bill despite trying to cancel the break when they realised Lynda was expecting back in May.
They claim they were refused a refund and instead decided to risk going ahead with the trip rather than waste the £4,500 they paid for the holiday.
But Lynda, 34, gave birth to their third child, Joshua, seven weeks early, just a day after they arrived in Orlando.
Mr Titheridge said he contacted the insurance company who said they were not covered for pregnancies and there was nothing they could do to get them home.
Finally, British Airways gave them clearance to leave without a passport for Joshua.
Mr Titheridge had originally booked the holiday at Carlson World Choice, Worthing, which he says has now been taken over by Thomas Cook.
A spokeswoman for Thomas Cook said the couple had originally spoken about cancelling the trip due to a 'family matter', but had not mentioned the pregnancy until just before the holiday.
She said: "I understand the branch has spoken to the family today and have sent them a claim form to fill in. We cannot do anything until we rec-eive the form back."
