TWO local charities will be the winners from Brighton and Hove Mayor Jenny Langston's Millennium Dinner and Ball on Saturday.

Members of the public are being urged to snap-up the last few tickets for the prestigious event, at the Metropole Hotel, Brighton.

Cash from the event will go to the Brighton Heart Support Trust and the Grace Eyre Foundation.

People with learning difficulties who attend the Grace Eyre Foundation's centre, in Hove, will be among the guests putting on their black ties for the ball.

The Brighton Heart Support Trust helps the work of the new cardiac unit at the Royal

Sussex County Hospital, funding research and education, and providing equipment not supplied by the NHS.

The Grace Eyre Foundation serves adults with learning difficulties. It runs the Avondale

Centre, in Hove, and organises a range of activities designed to help users have as active and full a life as possible.

Tickets to the ball cost £48 per person. Call 01273 291223.
