BOSS Billy Smith admits it could be a long, hard winter for his Crawley side after they slipped back into relegation trouble.

Successive defeats over the holiday have plunged Reds into the Premier Division's bottom four and tomorrow they travel to in-form Bath who have won five of their last six games and currently lie third.

To add to Smith's worries, midfielder Rod McAree is still ruled out by a knee injury.

It means Crawley travel to the west country with the same squad beaten 1-0 by ten-man Margate on Monday. Smith said: "We're facing a relegation battle."
