Andy Crosby has owned up to the error which condemned Albion to another home defeat.

Croatian Ahmet Brkovic clinched a 1-0 win for lowly Leyton Orient after pouncing on a poor clearance by the central defender.

"It was a bad clearance and I hold my hands up," Crosby admitted. "It was my fault."

The Seagulls have been beaten six times at Withdean in the League. Only rock-bottom Chester, Crosby's old club, have lost more matches in front of their own fans.

Albion are still fourteenth, but they are now eight points adrift of the play-off zone and have drawn a blank for three games in a row.

"Everybody keeps saying we are a big club in this League, but reputation counts for nothing," Crosby warned. "We have made things hard for ourselves now.

"It was like a morgue in the dressing room. Results at home are costing us big style.

"There were a lot of set pieces again where we did not attack the ball. Decent enough balls were going into the box, but people have got to want to score and maybe that's not happening enough.

Raggy

"In the first ten minutes we looked more like Raggy Rovers. We sorted things out and had plenty of possession but we are struggling to create things.

"We'd just had three decent results in the League and now we've lost two on the spin 1, nil."

Manager Micky Adams refused to comment after the match, sending out coach Ian Culverhouse instead.

"The Gaffer told them all to look at themselves and if they are not doing it, he is going to make changes," revealed Culverhouse". "I think Monday will be an interesting training session."

Danny Cullip was ruled out by a knee ligament strain. Adams expects him to miss Saturday's trip to Torquay as well, by which time the Lorenzo Pinamonte saga will be resolved.

The Orient match was the last of the Italien striker's month on loan from managerless Bristol City and the Seagulls are waiting to discover whether their bid to buy him will be accepted.

Culverhouse takes the Reserves to Oxford United in the Avon Insurance Combination tonight (7.30pm).
