FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man from his burning home during the early hours of this morning.
The man, who has not been named, was treated at the scene by paramedics for smoke inhalation after a fire in his first floor flat in South Terrace, Hastings.
Three appliances were sent to tackle the blaze at around 4.40am.
Occupants of three other flats in the building were also evacuated.
The fire brigade's victim support unit was called in to help residents while the blaze was extinguished.
Fire investigators were this morning still looking into the exact cause of the blaze.
The fire caused substantial damage to the first floor of the building.
