A MOTHER found strangled and dumped at a Sussex beauty spot may have known her killer, police said today.
Two men were still being interviewed this afternoon by officers investigating the murder.
The victim was discovered in undergrowth between
Arundel and Amberley on Wednesday.
She has still not been identified but police believe she had
children. They are also working on the theory she comes from the Littlehampton area.
It is understood police are still looking for others in connection with her death.
A post-mortem examination showed the woman had been strangled, either with hands or a scarf, and may have been killed up to a month ago.
But the location of the murder is still baffling detectives who are appealing to the public for help in identifying the victim.
The woman is aged between 30 and 45, 5ft 3in tall, with straight, dark brown hair, but possibly dyed red.
She was wearing a grey fleece-style jumper of Berkertex brand, size 10 to 12, and a black shirt.
She also wore lace-up shoes, black trousers and a fawn duffle
jacket. Police want to hear from anyone who recognises the description or the clothes and has not seen the woman for the last four weeks to call the
incident room on 0845 60 70 999.
Det Supt Alan Ladley, heading the investigation, Operation Gazelle, said it was vital people came forward.
He added: "Someone may be concerned about a friend or relative they have not heard from. We need to hear from them."
