Stop moaning and enjoy it
Plenty of people have been moaning about the Aquarium Terraces redevelopment now nearing completion on the seafront in Brighton.
They've been saying the nightclub will be too big and some of the buildings will be higher than the road in Marine Parade.
The size of the club will be decided after a public inquiry next month. Most of the development has been kept below the Marine Parade level.
Don't these moaning minnies remember what was there before the current development?
There was an ugly go-kart track, an amusement arcade and a huge fairground ride called the Viking Swing.
The new scheme has restored the old terraces and provided fine new buildings that will be a credit to the area instead a shabby slum at the heart of Brighton seafront.
Brighton's lower prom has already been revived between the piers. This multi-million pound scheme is a big step towards renovating the rest of the front all the way to Black Rock.
Coote's cash
Belinda Coote from Burgess Hill did not give up when her employers refused to give her a reference for another job.
She challenged entertainment giants Granada after she'd stopped running a bowling centre for them in London and now she's won almost £200,000 in compensation.
It's a lesson not only to Granada but to other big companies who think they can ride roughshod over their former employees.
Belinda's bowled them over and set the ball rolling for similar claims.
Dead loss
People in Hove are being persuaded to register births and deaths down the road in neighbouring Brighton rather than in their own town hall.
It's a further sign that when the two towns merged, Brighton would become the dominant partner.
Community leader Audrey Simpson says it's another nail in the
coffin of Hove.
But even if she's right, the death of Hove will have to be registered in Brighton.
