The hosts provided little threat to Sammy Donnelly's side, but a harsh first-half penalty by Micky Swaysland and a second late goal from the same player saw Rebels dive to a costly defeat.
Carrington, who only a week before blasted a hat trick in the 4-1 thrashing of Bromley, was twice off target from close range before Swaysland scored from the spot after former Albion defender Stuart Tuck was adjudged to have handled.
Carrington then had a right-foot shot blocked by goalkeeper Darren Watts, who also denied Paul Kennett before Carrington was guilty of another miss from a pass by Dave Cameron.
Worthing pulled level on 61 minutes when substitute Adie Miles scored from close in after a corner by Guy Rutherford was headed powerfully on by Damian Webber.
But Rebels were caught on the break 11 minutes from time. Goalkeeper Lee Bray was exposed by a lack of cover as Swaysland, at the near post, hit the winner with a shot into the other corner of the goal.
Bognor's poor home form continued with a 2-1 division one defeat against Maidenhead, despite showing improved form.

Bognor made a bright start but Billy Cove put the visitors ahead in the 33rd minute Bognor equalised in the 66th minute through a David Wright volley but substitute Michael Creighton hit the winner two minutes from time.
Horsham battled for a 1-1 division two home draw with Leighton despite three first-choice defenders unavailable and right back Dave Odongo playing with an injury.

Efon Elad put Leighton ahead in the 26th minute as Hornets appealed for offside.
Joel Kirkland equalised in first-half injury time.
Lewes ended Abingdon's 15-match unbeaten run with a 4-1 division three home victory. Tommy Pattenden put Rooks in front on 36 minutes before Gary Atkins levelled a minute before the interval. Pattenden (60 minutes), Jon Lockhart (70) and Dominic Shepherd (89) completed the scoring.
