Chris Adams fears Sussex will lose coach Peter Moores to England.

The county captain and England batsman is tipping Moores for an international call-up. "The players have a coach who I believe is destined for great things," said Adams. "Unfortunately for Sussex, we may find ourselves in a position not too far down the line when he is asked by the international set up to fill a role with them.

"That is how highly I rate him. He is young, energetic, everything the national game needs and also everything we at Sussex need. We have got to do everything we can to keep hold of him. The way he has matured and improved as a coach is magnificent and we are very fortunate to have him."

Moores signed a two-year contract just before Christmas, tying him to Sussex until the end of next season. Chief executive Dave Gilbert said: "We are very mindful that Mooresy is highly regarded at Lord's.

"I think he is an absolute certainty to get a winter tour in some capacity, the under 19's or the A tour."
