Residents in Sussex woke up to an unexpected snow shower today.
Snow fell for an hour in Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex but then turned
to sleet. Because of overnight rain the ground was wet and the snow did not cover.
Residents in part of Hassocks, Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath who woke up around 6am were amazed to see snow.
Julie Palmer, of Hammonds Road, said: "I couldn't believe it because I thought spring was really here at the weekend because it was so warm. But when I woke up I thought I must have been dreaming because it had all gone."
Residents in Worthing and Chichester did not have any snow but the weather was very cold. Weatherman Ken Woodhams said he had not had any reports of snow this morning.
