EXHIBITION: Rottingdean's Grange Art Gallery present a retrospective exhibition of work by Roy Wood, 1920-1997, entitled A Wood's Life in Art until April 25.

CHURCH: Rottingdean's St. Margaret's Church hold their annual parochial meeting in the Whiteway Centre tonight at 8pm. There will be an election of church wardens.

COMMUNITY DAY: On Saturday Rottingdean & Saltdean Lions, the Royal British Legion and local organisations present a St George's Community Day,a year 2000 village fun day for all.

There's a Senior Citizens tea party (by invitation) at 2.30pm, a Kool Kids Disco at 5.15pm in the village hall, a treasure hunt and at 7pm there's a procession from The Green to Beacon Hill for a millennium party at 7.30pm with musical entertainment, a barbecue and licensed bar. The evening ends with a Grand Firework Finale. Entry to all events is free.

FARM FUN: In aid of the Martlets Hospice in Hove, Ovingdean's Bulstrode Farm (near the church) present a fun day for young and old on Saturday from 11am-4pm. There are horse-drawn cart rides, competitions, a raffle and refreshments.

TASTY TIPPLES: The Brighton, Hove and District Branch of the Samaritans are holding a Wine Tasting Evening tonight at 7.30pm at Hove Club in Fourth Avenue.

Wines can be sampled from the Old and New World and the Samaritans new patron, Arthur Bostrom, from the BBC's highly successful TV series Allo 'Allo, will be there too. Tickets are £6 from the Samaritans, 102 Clarendon Road or on the door.

CRICKET FAREWELL: The Benson & Hedges match against Surrey on Tuesday will be a memorial match in honour of Peter Eaton, head groundsman for 32 years, who died suddenly in February.
