Brighton media firm Victoria Real has created the first stage of a website for one of Europe's most controversial television series

The Big Brother show will put ten strangers in a house for 70 days and record their every move while viewers vote to expell contestants one by one. The last person left in the house will win £70,000.

Jason George, creative director of Victoria Real, said the firm's experience of television and internet projects made them an ideal choice.

"It's the sort of project we talked about in the pub five years ago. Come September, everyone else will be talking about it in the pub," he said.

Producers of the German version of the show were criticised by a government minister. One contestant in the original Dutch series left to become a Playboy model. The final site will be used by viewers to vote on who should be expelled from the house.

"This is such a massive project." said Mr George. "It will be one of the biggest ever sites in Europe. Often television shows have a website as an afterthought. Here it's an integral part of the production."

Victoria Real is working with production company Bazal and Channel 4 to finalise an agreement on the production of the final site. Big Brother will go on air between July 10 and September 15 this year.

Victoria Real has just completed a clothing website for newspaper colunmnists and television presenters Susannah Constantine and Trinny Woodall.
