Linda Charman helped England lift the European Women's Team Championship title.
The 28-year-old world No.3 from Hailsham helped defeat Germany 3-0 in the final in Vienna.
But the Carriages club member feared she's picked up malaria after suffering mosquito bites on the calf in Egypt. Charman had a reaction to treatment but the problem settled down thanks to anti-histamine tablets.
She showed no ill-effects as she beat Sabine Baum 9-3, 9-0, 9-1 for England's fifth successive time in the final victory over Germany. In fact, she didn't drop a set throughout the tournament.
England won every rubber for the third successive Championship as they maintained their unbeaten record at the event which goes back to 1978.
