The first official statistics for internet use in Britain show nearly a quarter of people in the South-East have home access to the internet, up from 13 per cent last year.
With 24 per cent of people in the region online, the South-East is just behind London which boasts a 25 per cent figure, according to data released yesterday by the Office for National Statistics.
