She has lived through the reign of six monarchs and been around for the start of two centuries.
But Sarah Lubich, who last week celebrated her 103rd birthday at Dane House in Dyke Road Avenue, Brighton, does not like to think about how old she is.
Elaine Ogilvie, administrator at the home, said: "She still deals with all her affairs and is very bright.
"But she doesn't like to be reminded of her age."
Sarah's friends and family joined the party at Dane House on Friday to celebrate her milestone birthday.
Sarah occasionally stays at the home for respite care.
