Visiting the the Royal Sussex County Hospital's rheumatology department recently, I mentioned that as at one time I was completely immobilised from jaw to knees and living on my own, I should have somehow got myself admitted to hospital.
I was shocked to be told this would have been impossible, because no rheumatology consultants can allocate beds for their patients and therefore I could only been admitted under another, totally different consultant and department.
This raises serious points and questions how Brighton Health Care Trust can include as part of their logo: Putting patients interests first.
