Worthing will give debuts to midfielder Gary Green and goalkeeper Lee Preston when they usher in the new football season with a friendly against an Albion XI at Woodside Road tonight).

Midfielder Green has joined from Newport IOW and Preston arrives from fellow Ryman Leaguers Horsham.

Preston is one of four goalkeepers currently training with Rebels.

Richard Waters, who helped Burgess Hill to their hat-trick of County League titles, former Lewes stopper Phil Reid and Lee Bray, who kept goal for most of last season, are all vying for the No.1 spot.

Rebels will also include defender Spencer Mintram who has rejoined the Rebels after spells at Farnborough and Hastings.

Only the holidaying Simon Funnell, an ex-Seagull, is missing from a full-strength Worthing squad which also includes fit-again pair Danny Smith, who only played one match last season after breaking his leg, and striker Ben Carrington, who seems to have recovered from persistent knee problems.

Former Albion defender Stuart Tuck is in the Rebels squad and Graham Gee, the former Weymouth winger, could be added as a triallist.
