Striker Scott Ramsay wants to save Albion a whole lot of time and trouble in the transfer market.

Boss Micky Adams is continuing to hunt an experienced target man as Albion come to the end of their three game tour of Ireland.

But, as the Seagulls prepared to complete their week here with a trip to Athlone Town tonight (7.30), Ramsay insisted: "I think I can do the job."

The muscular 19-year-old scored at Longford on Monday and has relished physical battles with tough Irish defenders in the two games to date.

He added: "I always enjoy a physical tussle. I go into games thinking I will score and I will bully people.

"I'm physically stronger now but I know I've still got a bit to do.

"The tour hasn't gone too badly for me. I didn't have a brilliant game on Monday but I scored and I had 20 minutes at Galway and I thought I did all right."

Right back Paul Watson is ruled out of tonight's game by the groin strain he suffered in Wednesday's 2-0 defeat at Galway.

But Steve Melton and Matt Russell, who both picked up ankle knocks in that game, expect to be fit.

Charlie Oatway, Richard Carpenter, Michels Kuipers and Andy Crosby all sat out the Galway match so will be expected to have a decent run tonight.

Albion's leg-weary players were put through stretching exercises yesterday morning before being given the rest of the day off.

They were due to train this morning, then make the 45-minute coach journey across country to Athlone.
